The Best Bad Day

For me, today was a day most would consider a "bad day."  Nothing horrific happened... it was just bad.

- felt unaccomplished
- caused a car accident
- had to drive back to the office after getting home because I forgot a book I needed that night
- left the office the second time STILL forgetting the book, so had to turn around to get it

At that point, I was pretty much wanting to just erase the day when I received back a text msg from Cheyenne after letting her know I was FINALLY on my way home:

"Baby :( hang in there - the day will get better - you get to eat and go to barbucks...with me!"
*** Cheyenne and I call Starbucks "Barbucks" for some reason, not really sure where/why that started :)

Right there, God spoke to me.  I could easily look back on today with a bad taste in my mouth only to remember the "junk" that happened.  Instead, through this simple text, He was able to adjust my perspective on the day and remind me of the awesome things He provided me with.

- sharing time at the movies with the awesome people I get to work with day in & day out
- a supervisor who seems to care more about me & my future than I do sometimes
- the ability to come home to a beautiful house with a loving wife that is excited to see me
- time to relax during a very crazy time of year

So, although today might be considered a "bad day," I am going to think of it as the "best bad day" I could have because I am able to hear from a God who loves me and who reminds me of all that He has provided to me.

Doesn't sound like such a bad day to me...sounds like a case of possible Geoff burn out in process...be in the moment, can't change what has happened, cannot predict the future, only HE can....and HE has given you a perfect moment to use to the best of your ability...that moment is a gift!!!

how do you think you caused a car accident? what was that little blurb and nothing more about?

Love you always, and am very proud to call you my son!

When faith is strong we realize the abundance in our day....everyday....lifting others above the hum drum of the day inspires. Lifting the spirit is not about sharing what has gone wrong but what we have gained and I have witnessed that ability in you for as long as I have known you...thanks for the smiles, laughs and taking the blahs out of life..
